Blacktop repair (asphalt repair): Although engine oil and other solvents can break down asphalt, it’s the water that leaks down through that’s the real enemy. As vehicles drive over asphalt surfaces, the expansion and contraction causes surface cracks. Water then seeps in and erodes the blacktop. Freezing weather and extremely hot conditions weaken asphalt to a point where it finally collapses, creating a pothole.

Our team will prepare all site excavation and grading prior to asphalt delivery. This way when the blacktop arrives piping hot from the plant, it can be quickly poured and compacted. Since the blacktop will be pliable until it has cured, it is important to avoid the following:

• Parking vehicles in the same spot every time
• Placing kickstands for motorcycles and even bicycles directly on blacktop
• Never park a trailer or RV on the pavement (long term) without putting a piece of plywood beneath each wheel and trailer hitch to evenly distribute the weight. We recommend using a piece of wood under trailer hitches even for short term parking, and especially when jacking up a loaded trailer.
